Keti Bazhdari was born on 28 April 1980, in Shkoder, Albania, in a family where entrepreneurial and artistic spirit are blended. She attended the elementary school and high school in “Jordan Misja” in her native city, showing excellent results at school and in different competitions, especially in sciences, where she was distinguished for her innate talent in physics. In 1998, after finishing high school she decided to leave Albania in order to pursue her academic studies in Rome, Italy. There she would have all the support of her family to study nuclear engineering.
After a short period in emigration and a longing for homeland, that came growing above her passion for science and good chances for living and studying in Rome, the responsibility to return and serve in her native city prevailed. She returned at the end of 1998 convinced not to leave never again.
She resumed her university studies, but now in Albania, at the University “Luigj Gurakuqi”, graduating in Accounting and Finance.
In 2011, she has earned a post-grad degree in Public Administration and Public Policy(MPA) in the Faculty of Economics at the University “Marin Barleti”, in Tirana.
While she was still a student at the age of-21 , she started a small business with no outside support. All she relied on was her iron will to succeed that characterizes her.
Today her business is among the most successful in its field where she has created employment opportunities for hundreds of workers. Nonetheless, her ultimate goal was never business or monetary incentive. Her true passions have always been to make positive changes in her surrounding, be it her own life, her city and her country. Her business was just a tool in service of her vision.
Her activities in business are closely associated with contributions in the field of philanthropy and charity. Especially after 2007, her activities included a systematic financial support in the field of arts; social activities, and assisting the marginalized groups.
In December 2013, she received the “Philanthropy Award” for “special contribution in the field of art and culture in support of young artists and the enrichment of cultural life, as well as for the continuous support for vulnerable groups”, sponsored by Partners Albania in cooperation with “Rockefeller Brothers” Fund.
In December 2014, she established the Civic Alliance Towards Integrity Foundation – CATI, a foundation supporting society.
Early in 2009 Keti entered politics by strong lobbying, but also earning great support of President of Socialist Party, Mr. Edi Rama. In December 2010, she was elected as a chairperson of Socialist Party’s branch in Shkoder where she has given a great contribution in enhancing the quality of participation and performance of this political force.
Since 2011, Keti Bazhdari is a Member of the Municipal Council in Shkoder. From 2012 to 2013, Keti was a leader of the working group for the former politically persecuted. From 2012 she is a Vice President of the Socialist Women Forum of Albania.
